Near Flawless November 22, 2005 Ed M. Nadler (NY) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've been using this model for a little over a year and it is by far the sturdiest and easiest of the lever wine openers I've tried. Cheaper models tend to break, especially when used incorrectly but this one can take a licking and keep on pulling. No problems with wax corks either. Still, I recommend you understand the instructions before trying to use any lever wine opener.
This item works great! August 29, 2005 Margo D. Davenport (Mitchellville, MD) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Previously, I had only used the standard manual inexpensive type corkscrew that I received in giftbags at conventions. They got the job done, but required a lot of twisting/pulling and often deposited bits of cork in the wine. I debated purchasing this item for a long time because I was put off by the expense. After all, the money I saved by using the cheap corkscrew, could be used to buy more wine. Finally, I decided to get it , and I'm glad I did. No more twisting/turning! Bottles are opened quickly and no more bits of cork. Although the item description indicated that the box included a metal stopper, it did not. However, I called the company and received a metal stopper a few days later. I highly recommend this item!
Review of Screwpull "Elegance" Cork puller September 23, 2009 Michael Simpson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have previously purchased this product about 10 years ago. I have been pulling an average of 7 corks a week for that intire time. Just recently the main gear that lifts the cork screw snapped in two. I believe that the problem was excessive wear between the cork screw and the cork screw holder allowing the gear to miss align, bind up and with extra force from me the gear snapped. I bought another as I felt that after 10 years of service it is probably the most durable model available. After another 10 years, yes, I would buy another.
Screwpull Corkscrew July 13, 2008 Frans H. Kuipers (Southport, NC) Well constructed and easy to use, great value. Getting the cork off of the corkscrew is the feature I like the best.
Does its job... opens bottles well April 13, 2009 Zinho (USA) If you are looking to open a bottle of wine, this instrument will do it quite well. Don't know what else I can say about the Screwpull Elegance Lever Model Corkscrew Gift Set...
